Mamas, you are not alone…

If you pile into the car, just so you can make a trip through the drive-thru at Starbucks.

If you give your child snacks, to stop them from crying.

If you’ve made up a descriptive song to sing about pooping, because it is the only way to get through a diaper change without screaming (and a mess).

If you sometimes put on episodes of Smash or Nashville, because your toddler will shut up and dance to the music.

If you internalize your sadness when your kid knocks over your Lego tower.

If you go through an entire day, with your child either in the Ergo carrier, or the Ergo hanging at your waist at the ready.

If you hold back (or don’t)  hysterical laughter when your toddler is throwing a tantrum.

If you thought it would be a sweet moment when your child learned to say ‘Mama,’ but now it sounds like nails on chalkboard (MAMAMAMAMAMA!!!!)

Got any others? There is no judgement here.

  1. LOL– sometimes I look down and realize I have been walking around wearing the Ergo like an apron for who knows how long.

  2. When I babysit on Fridays I run my errands and sometimes spot the wee one close to sleep in her carseat. Cue “Call Me Maybe.” The song is on repeat until we get home because instead of sleeping she dances. If she sleeps in the car then she stops sleeping when the car stops, and I cannot abide a fifteen minute long nap.

  3. Omg amen sister!!!! My diaper change song goes like this: skylar has a poopie, a poopie, a poopie! Skylar has a poopie And its time to clean her butt!! And repeat with as many rhyming words as possible. 😉 I thought u would appreciate.

  4. Urgh, right now it’s putting the sick, grouchy, sleepy baby who you’ve been cuddling all afternoon in the cot to sleep (cry) for a few moments!!

  5. I love this post- times a million.
